I’m with you. It’s so sad when you stop and think about it. Here I am in my nice house, with my nice clothes, a pantry and fridge full of food, my kids in their nikes and yet you forget, easily, how fortunate we are. It’s easy to turn a cheek to the less fortunate but we must remember and do what we can even if it’s as little as a $5 donation to the local salvation army or dropping clothes off at goodwill.
It is too easy. When I worked in healthcare, I had the opportunity to see the poorest of poor. We are rich beyond words in comparison. It is good that we remind ourselves frequently and teach our children about generosity.
Thanks Jamie

Sobering isn’t it. I have not checked the validity but I’ve heard that if you have change in your pocket, a place to sleep tonight and food on the table you are in the top 6% of the world’s population. 94 out of 100 people that we share the planet with will not have all three as they head to sleep tonight.
Sobering. Humbling. Well worth remembering.
Thanks Barb.
BTW, when I first came to your blog I made this comment, but when I came back it had disappeared. Not sure where it wound up. Sorry if it’s a duplicate.

Amazing isn’t it! So many have so much. What I have learned is that change can only take place if the ruling powers of many nations would end corruption. Requirements of which…involve reprogramming one’s brain and a beating heart in a living soul. ‘Tis is a lovely thought.
Thanks

There is something for you on my blog post today! Check it out to see what it is! Oh the suspense!
This is a fact that I have trouble even beginning to comprehend. Rarely a day goes by that I do not take time to be thankful for all I have. I hope these people, some day, will be able to have so much more. It breaks my heart.
On the other hand, while I know it is not nearly enough -the one dollar a day- it is an awing fact to see people in these other cultures with such simple lives. The joy that can find from the simplest pleasures!! For this reason, I have often thought maybe they are richer than us. In some ways, they are. :-)
